Athletic Health and Safety Plan

UPDATE-JANUARY 5, 2021

Dear Parents,
I would like to inform you of a change to our current remote instructional model. Beginning on Monday, January 11, we will transition to a hybrid instructional model for all students. Students will attend Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday as scheduled. Fridays will remain remote learning days for all students. Your child’s Principals will be providing you with details for this return shortly.
Free school meals will remain available to all students during the period of hybrid instruction at Cranberry Area School District. Meals will be available to all students who are learning from home during the period of hybrid instruction. Meals will be distributed Monday through Friday from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. using the parent drop off lane at Cranberry High School. Meals will not be delivered to the outlying areas of the district Monday through Thursday but meals will be delivered on Fridays at the satellite locations posted on our website.
I wish to thank you for your continued flexibility and patience during our period of remote instruction. I know it has been difficult for you and your children to be learning and teaching at home. I can only begin to imagine the sacrifices that have been made and the struggles endured as a family in a remote learning environment.
Our goal continues to be a return to a fully in-person instructional model that we all so badly want and need. We may at some point, however, need to return to a remote instructional model as dictated by our state departments of health and education should our numbers of positive COVID-19 cases within our school buildings meet the threshold to do so. Attached to this letter you will find an updated COVID-19 Screening and Referral Form. Please use the screening tool daily with your children to determine if they are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 and should stay home from school. It is vital for our return to a hybrid and in-person instructional model that we all do our part to stay healthy and stay home if exhibiting symptoms.
Thank you again for your flexibility, patience, and commitment to our students, schools, and communities.
Bill Vonada
Superintendent, Cranberry Area School District
